Con la finalidad de conservar, proteger y restaurar \u00e1reas degradadas en la parroquia San Mateo, la Prefectura de Esmeraldas a trav\u00e9s de la Direcci\u00f3n de Gesti\u00f3n Ambiental realizar\u00e1 el 26 de noviembre, una reforestaci\u00f3n de cuencas hidrogr\u00e1ficas denominada \u201cSiembra Esmeraldas\u201d, con el apoyo del GAD Parroquial de la comunidad y estudiantes de la Facultad Ciencias Agropecuarias de la Universidad T\u00e9cnica Luis Vargas Torres.<\/p>

<\/p>

Esta reforestaci\u00f3n es parte de las actividades por conmemoraci\u00f3n de los 173 a\u00f1os de Provincializaci\u00f3n. Son 1000 plantas de especies frutales y de protecci\u00f3n que se sembrar\u00e1n en una extenci\u00f3n de 2 km en la cuenca del r\u00edo Esmeraldas,<\/strong> estableciendo una franja de protecci\u00f3n para el beneficio de la poblaci\u00f3n de San Mateo.<\/p>

<\/p>

Cristhian Qui\u00f1onez<\/strong>, t\u00e9cnico de la Prefectura de Esmeraldas, indic\u00f3 que la instituci\u00f3n, con las acciones a ejecutarse, est\u00e1 fortaleciendo el ambiente, adem\u00e1s, motivando a estudiantes universitarios y a la misma comunidad para aplicar buenas pr\u00e1cticas ambientales.<\/p>
