la Provincia de Esmeraldas, en Ecuador. Su cabecera cantonal es\u00a0<b>Valdez (Limones).\u00a0<\/b>Las principales poblaciones son Borb\u00f3n, Maldonado, Selva Alegre, Playa de Oro, Atahualpa, Zapallo Grande, San Francisco del Onzole, Santo Domingo del Onzole y Santa Luc\u00eda de Las Pe\u00f1as. Estas poblaciones est\u00e1n distribuidas a lo largo de la cuenca del R\u00edo Santiago, donde confluyen adem\u00e1s el R\u00edo Cayapas y el R\u00edo Onzole. La composici\u00f3n \u00e9tnica de la poblaci\u00f3n esta formada por afrodescendientes, cayapas, \u00e9peras y colonos mestizos. Tambien conocido como camaron de r\u00edo, es apreciado por su sabor y su distinguida apariencia.
